Hi, I'm Aurora and I'm a stylist at Verde Salon.

What are your favorite services and why?

My favorite services are definitely blonding services, especially global all over blondes or color placement or color blocking with vibrant colors. I just love the creativity and individuality that comes with changing your hair color and it's such a fun and rewarding experience to be a part of people's hair journeys to their dream hair.

What can your guests expect from you?

My guests can definitely expect a bubbly personality and a big smile and listening ear. I like to ask a lot of questions in my consultation, not just about your hair health or your hair history, but also about your lifestyle, so that we can both collaborate together in finding your best haircut, best hair colour, and best situation for your lifestyle.

I want my guests to feel understood and to know that behind my chair or in my chair is not only just place that's open for what they want for their hair, but also for what they want for their time spent with me. I think getting your hair done is a form of self care and self care is so important that we nourish our wellbeing and our mental health. So however you want to go about that, whether it's a silent service or catching up on studying and work, or maybe you want to tell me about all the silly TV shows you've been catching up on, whatever you want for your service and how you can best relax is what I want to happen for my guests.

‘Why is Aveda important to you?

Aveda is important to me because it's really a company that values the same things that I do, especially when it comes to environmental impact. The first line of our mission statement is to care for the world that we live in, and I think that's not only a commendable statement, but an important statement that we uphold in the beauty industry. And Aveda does a great job of that. They're B Corp certified, Leaping Bunny certified. They follow the highest ethics in the beauty industry, which has always been something that's very important to me, and it just makes it really easy to be proud of the company that you work for and proud to talk about the products that we provide and really connect with people on a more personal level because our products are so mission aligned.

What do you like to do in your free time?

When I'm not thinking about hair, I like spending time with my family, I like playing my guitar, I love the outdoors. In the summertime I like to kayak and fish on the lake in Gimli where I'm from and then in the wintertime you can still find me on the lake, ice fishing or I'm probably throwing rocks in a curling club somewhere around the interlake.
